Added the Acceptable Use Policy, rules for messages you send your customers through OPTISALE, Sign in with Apple, Unsubscribe links on recurring emails, and the terms that apply when you get the app from the App Store or Google Play.

Why this exists

OPTISALE is shared by many businesses, and their customers trust the messages and documents it sends. This policy says what nobody may use it for, so that it stays safe and trusted for all of them. It applies to everyone with an account and everyone they add to their company.

Nothing illegal

Do not use OPTISALE to sell, record or arrange anything that is illegal where you or your customer are — including stolen goods, counterfeit goods, controlled drugs or medicines sold without the licence the law requires, weapons where they are restricted, or anything that breaks sanctions.

Do not use it for fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, false invoices or receipts, or to mislead anyone about what they are buying or what they owe.

Messages and documents to other people

Send reminders, invoices, links and other messages only to people who gave you their details for that purpose and have not asked you to stop. No spam, no marketing to people who have not agreed to it, and no messages to numbers or addresses bought, collected or guessed.

Never use a message to threaten, harass, shame, frighten or deceive anyone, including a person who owes you money — no contacting their family, employer or friends about the debt, no false claims about legal action, no messages at unreasonable hours.

Do not pretend to be another business, a bank, a government body or OPTISALE, and do not use a document or link to collect passwords, card details or other information under false pretences.

Other people’s data

Record personal details only when you have the right to, keep them accurate, and use them only for your dealings with that person. Do not upload anything you have no right to — another business’s records, someone’s private documents, or content that infringes copyright or trademarks.

Do not upload content that is sexual, hateful, violent or exploits children, and do not use your logo, documents or messages to carry it.

The service itself

Do not try to reach another company’s records or another person’s account, to test or break our security, or to get round a limit, a plan, a permission or a payment — and do not help anyone else to.

Do not overload the service, scrape it, or reach it by automated means other than the app itself; do not copy, resell or rent it out, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows you to.

Do not upload viruses or anything else meant to harm the service or the people using it. Files are checked when they arrive, and any that fail are refused.

If you find a security problem, tell us at the address below and give us a fair chance to fix it before telling anyone else. We will not take action against anyone who reports one in good faith and does no harm.

Staff and access

Give each person only the access their work needs, and remove it when they leave. Do not share one login between several people, and do not use someone else’s.

What happens if this is broken

We may remove the content, stop a message, limit a feature, or suspend the account or the company involved, as the Terms of service describe. Where it is serious or the law requires, we may report it to the authorities. We will tell you what happened and why, unless the law or someone’s safety stops us.

To report misuse — including a message or document you received from a business using OPTISALE — write to chukwuebuka@optisale.app.

Something here unclear? Ask us — we would rather explain it than have you guess.
